The Buccaneer

Scottish Nobleman. Captain Of  a group of Roger’s Rangers. 30ish years old. Strong of mind and body. Of average height and natural athletic physique. Raised equally amongst the Indian tribes and the colonials, he speaks various native dialects, English and French and  knows and respects their cultural differences . He is a very skillful hunter, and fighter. The best of the Elite Scouting unit of Rangers. His men love and respect him. He is good natured, easy going and friendly. An intelligent man who adapts well to situational conditions.  He has a strong and abiding sense of right and wrong. He loves life and feels a deep connection to, and respect for the natural  world, the forests, streams and animals, and in this is much closer to the native culture. He  loves Wasoona of the Hurons, a beautiful woman aprox 8-10 years younger. He marries her, and they live in a small clearing not far from Fort William Henry in a cabin built by his own hands with the help of Angus and his Ranger brethren.

A strong, stocky built Scotsman of medium height. He’s a gregarious man, quick with a laugh, he has a sarcastic wit, and loves to play pranks on his friends. He is full of “pearls of wisdom”. He is a Ranger and has been James Roy’s Mentor and best friend for the past 10 years. At over 50 years of  years of age, he is beginning to slow down and longs to spend his evenings on the porch smoking his pipe while casually scratching Fionn’s (James Roy's Dog) head. When not out on Patrol, he’s a common fixture around James Roy’s cabin. He thinks of James fondly, as a son, and happily supports James love for Wasoona.

Beautiful Huron Princess,  20ish years old. Chief Grey Duck’s Daughter and James Roy’s wife. She and James met while he lived amongst the tribes during his late teens, she was just a child. She loved him  from the moment she met him and knew they would marry. She speaks English and knows the ways of the Colonists. She loves her Huron Family, but having married James, chooses to side with him when The French and Indian War breaks out...

War leader of the Huron Indians and the foster son of Chief Grey Duck, he is actually of the Mohawk tribe, traditional enemies of the Huron. He has been fostered with the Huron Chief  longer than he lived with his Mohawk birth family. It was Blue Duck who named him Wenro, which means “the Dog”. He is a man filled with anger. He is a mean spirited and cruel man. He has lusted after Wasoona, Grey Duck’s daughter since their childhood. He is jealous of James Roy and hates him.

James Roy’s Irish Wolfhound.  As loyal as any dog has ever been. He is a trained War dog and often accompanies the Rangers on patrol. He is particularly fond of Wasoona, James’s Wife.

Scottish Laird and Philanthropist.Moved to New England with his 15 year old son, to conduct a social experiment of introducing the Native Indians to Colonial life, European customs and Christianity and to prove that the red man and white man can be the same. However, He is shocked when James confesses his love with an Indian maiden, Wasoona. He Does not agree with, nor support James’ choice to marry her. They argue and have a falling out, and Alistair abandons his project and returns to Scotland. When word makes it back to the English Court, Alistair is ridiculed, and snubbed by the other nobles. He loses the King’s favor and retires to Roy Manor in Scotland, a dejected and broken man. Soon afterwards he contracts “The Cough” and his health rapidly declines. His only happiness is a Treasure map inherited from his father and the misguided idea that he can get James to Marry Kate Winslow, the daughter of Dr. William Winslow, his contemporary and lifetime best friend...

Lord Edmund Ashby:  40+ years old, tall, and predatory in appearance. Eldest brother of the Large and Powerful Ashby Family. The Ashby’s hold  the controlling interest in the East India Company and Lord Edmund and his younger Brother Henry, are  both Officers. Through deep financial pockets of the company, the Ashby’s have a controlling voice in The House of Lords. Lord Edmund is known as one of England’s finest Duelists. He has a very high opinion of himself, his family, and his country. In that order. He is easily offended and is frequently calling men out on points of honor. He delights in his skill with the blade and cares little for those he kills. He has spent much of his time in India and the Orient on Company business, and warring with the French against their interests there.

Kate is the only child of Dr. William Winslow. She was James Roy's Childhood sweetheart. 25 ish years old. She is a strong willed and passionate woman, and is set on having James Roy as her Husband, though she has not seen him since Jamie and his father moved to America...Spurned after being reunited with him, she states "you are a cruel man James Roy, I hate You!" She later weds Lord Henry Ashby and becomes Lady Ashby, First Lady of Jamaica...She becomes a loving mother who's son is her whole reason for living...

 Agyei (agJAYee)– 30+ years old, African. To save his family, Agyei agreed to act as guide and led English slavers to another, larger village. Controlled by this continued threat he joins the crew of the slave ship, gathering other tribes for the slave markets in Jamaica  and America. He refuses to act as guide after finding that his family, was enslaved despite his deal. He is being held in the brig of a prison ship, when he meets James Roy . As fate has brought them together they form an alliance…  

Younger brother to Edmund Ashby. Officer of The East India Co. Plantation owner and Governor of Jamaica.  He is obsessed with finding The Buccaneer, it is his consuming passion. He is married to Kate Winslow with whom he has a son. 30+ years old. Tall and handsome.  Well bred and well mannered, he can be charming, but can quickly become vicious.

Commander of the Hessian Mercenaries employed by Lord Henry Ashby to hunt down The Buccaneer. Johannes has a psychopathic personality. He is a brutal man with a desire to torture his enemies.  He delights in killing.  40+ years old., strong, Aryan looking.

Captain of the Pirate ship “La Rosa Sangrienta (The Bloody Rose). Escobar leads a divided crew, comprised of Spanish and Portuguese "Piratas" and an equal number of Pirates from the British Islands and France. It is an unstable alliance, with the threat of mutiny ever present. Escobar in a cunning man who has reached the age of 55. A testiment to his ability to survive in a atmosphere where the average man doesn’t reach 30.
